You're looking at the new 2014 Evanta Barchetta, the first fruits of a collaboration between famed tuning company Kahn and specialist manufacturer Evanta, whose boss starred in Channel 4’s For The Love of Cars. Due to be unveiled officially at the Goodwood Revival in September, the Evanta Barchetta has been made by Ant-Kahn, the name for the surprise new partnership first revealed by CAR magazine earlier in summer 2014. It's a retro-styled roadster with seats for two and a wardrobe inspired by 1950s motorsport.
As the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette gets closer to the hands of future owners, the popular model is also turning 60 years old, on June 30 to be specific. With about 1.5 million Corvettes being produced since 1953, the American sports car is still going strong. Fifty-eight years ago, on June 30, 1953, the first production Chevrolet Corvette rolled off the temporary assembly line in Flint, Mich. This was just six months after the Corvette made its world debut at the 1953 GM Motorama at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. The Flint line would build 300 copies of the '53 Corvette--all of them white, with red interiors and black folding tops.
